Usage Patterns of Western Televised Contents in Pakistan: A Use and Gratification Approach

    The main objective of the research was to find out the preference wise list of western televised programming among the viewers in Islamabad. By applying the stratified sampling technique, 292 respondents were finalized for analysis. It was found that entertainment programming was mostly consumed western televised contents and then, educational and political. The usage of western televised contents was assessed due to dissatisfaction about their own programming, educational and political systems. They preferred the western programming and systems comparatively a better choice.

Assessing the Impact of Usage of Social Networking Sites (SNSs) on Job Performance: Mediating Role of Information Overload

    Social Networking Sites (SNSs) have been playing a crucial role in influencing the overall performance of an organization and the job performance of employees. It leads to information overload that is a significant barrier for the general effectiveness of a business model. Thus, the study evaluates the role of SNSs in job performance of employees by the mediating effects of information overload in the context of telecom sector of Pakistan. The Sample of 522 was used for statistical analysis of questionnaires. The findings of the study reveal strong relationship between the usage of SNSs and job performance of employees while information overload play a mediating role. Managerial implications, limitations and directions for future studies are also discussed..

Political Communication With Social Media In Pakistan: Internal And External Efficacy

    Political knowledge influences political behavior and political participation as the person who has sufficient political knowledge will contribute his part in political issues and get engage himself in political campaigns. Hence, a politically informed person put an impact upon others by sharing his views and information. Now a day social media has revolutionized the world due to its unlimited features, and it made it easier for everyone to spread the news and especially the political content. Different political parties use social media platforms to engage their voters and especially youth. This study suggests that social media plays a critical role for youngsters to disseminate information regarding politics and affects the internal and external efficacy of youth by the transmission of knowledge and political participation through social media.

Analyzing Privacy in Facebook: A Survey of Users’ Perception

    This research delved into the privacy concerns of Facebook users in Punjab, Pakistan. A Google survey of 107 participants uncovered a range of Facebook usage habits,  from frequent to occasional. While most users were aware of privacy settings, their understanding and utilization varied. Key worries centered around profile visibility, app permissions, data sharing, and friend requests. While many users felt Facebook provided adequate information, others found it lacking. Trust in Facebook's data protection was moderate,  and opinions on information clarity were divided. The study underscores the importance of enhanced communication, education, and transparency regarding privacy settings. Prioritizing user concerns, fostering trust, and empowering users to make informed choices should be central to Facebook's future endeavors.
