Knowledge, Attitude & Practices towards Safe Water, Sanitation and Hygiene

    Affordable and sustainable access to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) is a key public health issue and focus of Sustainable Development Goals. Literature showed that households having prior knowledge and an acceptable attitude towards WASH practices have less number of diseases. The main objective of the study was to explore the level of respondents' knowledge, attitude and practices towards safe Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Conditions in South Punjab, Pakistan. The study was mixed-method research. SPSS also applied, and results demonstrate that there was very lack of knowledge about safe WASH practices; the majority of respondents have a traditional attitude. Whereas only 27.3% of respondents have always access to safe drinking water, 96% of respondents were not using any domestic water treatment method, 22.9% were defecating in the open, and the percentage of always handwashing with soap was found to only 29.6%. Social Mobilization programs along with government action to ensure safe WASH conditions are recommended.

Effects of Social Media in Pakistan: A Case Study of Gujranwala and Gujrat

    Social media provide a platform for discussion on various issues that often gets ignored in our day-to-day life. In order to keep ourselves connected with the entire world and remain updated about what all is taking place or happening around us, youth is mostly inclined towards using social media for information. It has been seen utilization of social media is becoming more and more effective to mold opinion and in changing their mind-set of the youth. The usage of social media among youth in Punjab, Pakistan offers ample opportunity for evaluation. To investigate the impact of social media usage on educational learning, social behavior, and political awareness among the youth in Punjab, a research study was carried out. The study employed a survey research design, and data was collected through the use of questionnaires.

New Trends in the Historiography of Pakistan: A Case Study of Writings by Prof. Muhammad Iqbal Chawla

    One of the recent developments in South Asian historiography is the adoption of new approaches for each of its sub-disciplines. Historiographical scholarship has also discovered new avenues including exploration of the ignored and marginalized aspects of history. Muhammad Iqbal Chawla is one of such academicians who has left a strong mark on the field of historiography by making multifaceted and original contributions. These can be ascertained by a comprehensive assessment of his entire intellectual cum scholarly sojourn. Dr Chawla has attempted to create to put a new face in the varied field of historiography in Pakistan and he has largely succeeded in his endeavour. The main aim of this research paper is to assess his contribution. This objective can best be achieved by a thorough perusal of his contributions to historiography from multiple perspectives as the author has tried to do so in this article.
